TEHRAN -- Majlis Deputy Behyar Soleimani of Fasa, who is also a member of the Majlis Social Commission, called for the formation of an emergency employment headquarters with the heads of the three government branches as permanent members in order to solve the country's unemployment problem.

He also referred to the critical employment situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran and said that Iran had faced a critical situation during the eight years of the Iraqi-imposed war. He said that a war headquarters was established then and now that the country is faced with unemployment problems, a headquarters should be formed in order to deal with this crisis.

Pointing to the fact that there is no official in charge of employment in the country, he added that during a meeting with the minister of labor and social affairs, the members of the Majlis Social Commission asked the minister to take charge of employment.

Soleimani said that the minister has welcomed the deputies' invitation and has announced his readiness to cooperate.

Soleimani added that the employment headquarters could deal with obstacles hindering the process of creating employment opportunities.
